Trump Confirms He’ll Bring Gingrich on Board
Trump spoke at a rally in Ohio, where he gave the crowd some information that got a roaring response. He said, “In one form or another, New Gingrich is going to be involved with our government.” Trump continued, praising Gingrich, saying, “he’s smart, he’s tough, he gets it…and he says I’m the biggest thing he’s ever seen in the history of politics.” We all know that for Trump, this is a cherry on top.
Newt Gingrich was one of the first political big wigs to come out in support of Donald Trump. Despite harsh criticism Trump was receiving, Gingrich said that everyone needed to take a step back, and see how historical Trump’s campaign has ben. With no political experience, with enough personal scandals to make any campaign director tell a candidate to not even bother, Trump soared to the top of the polls and staid there. And furthermore, he won more votes than any Republican candidate in history. Ginrich’s sentiment was soon followed. Governor Perry also praised Trump’s campaign, looking at its success, and its different approach that was so successful.
Both Gingrich and Perry are thought to be on the list for potential VPs. Trump stating that Gingrich will be part of his team, will set the rumors mill flying. The presumptive Republican nominee has already said he wants someone who knows DC like the back of his hand, and Gingrich was the Speaker of the House for one of the largest Republican majorities. Furthermore, he is considered an insider without being a sell out. He is liked by the Tea Party, without being too extreme. And lastly, he is a Fox News commentator, which means he will have enough of the entertainment flair and comfortable on camera attitude that Trump’s running mate will have to have if he wants to keep up on the campaign trail.
Trump will need a strong running mate, who is part of the Washington circle without being a puppet. As there are continuous talks that there will be a vote to displace Trump as the presumptive Republican nominee, Trump will now need allies. And in Gingrich, he might find the perfect match to his campaign style and what he hopes to achieve.
