Donald Trump Cuts Ties With Campaign Manager
With less than a month left till the Republican National Convention, Donald Trump has finally secured the spot as the presumptive GOP nominee. When all seemed like it would settle down in the Republican world as the party came together to fight against Clinton, the news has incredibly picked up.
Today, Donald Trump parted ways with his campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski. Lewandowski was constantly seen at Trump’s side, and led Trump’s historic campaign. Trump has won more Republican votes than any other candidate in history, and has truly shocked the whole country in the primary. With no political experience, Trump went into a group of 17 political veterans, and stood at the center podium at every Republican debate. Trump and Lewandoswki appeared so close, that Trump took his side when a Breitbart reporter said the campaign manager inappropriately grabbed her so hard that it left a mark.
But now, the relationship has ended. Trump’s press secretary, Hope Hicks, said “The campaign is grateful to Corey for his hard work and dedication and we wish him the best in the future.”
The past few weeks have been hard for Donald Trump. As he has gotten through the first part of his campaign, he is now up against a seriously tough opponent. Clinton has the media on her side in many cases, and he is now fighting with his own party and its leaders. Trump has millions of Republican voters on his side, but is constantly criticized by people like Mitt Romney and John Kasich.
Furthermore, Trump has had to defend his comments he made about the Judge Curiel case. According to a source, Trump was at odds with his campaign about his decision to not back down in the fights against his “racist” comments. Trump was called racist because he said the judge should be recused due to his Mexican heritage. The media and politicians blew up over this comment. But actually, there are numerous cases where judges have to be recused because of their ethnicity. Trump stood by this, and this might have been a factor in his decision to let Lewandowski go.
Donald Trump has already said that he would go at the race alone if the GOP does not get on board with his vision and his campaign. There seems like there a lot of changes, as Trump steps into his own and looks towards defeating Hillary Clinton. We know that Trump does things his own ways, so there is no surprise he would let his campaign manager go this far into his campaign. So now, the real question is who he will choose to replace him.
As for Lewansdowki, he will not have a hard time finding a new job. Most politicians have looked at Trump’s campaign with their jaws dropped. The odds that were against Trump and the way he beat them are truly historical. Furthermore, his raw style and his ability to capture audiences’ attention set him apart. While this has a lot to do with Trump’s personality, Lewandowski has to be given some credit for Trump’s quick rise and his victorious campaign.
