Senator Paul Needs New Staff
Senator Rand Paul is under fire this week for plagiarism regarding an op-ed he wrote for The Washington Times. It is no secret in Washington that Congressmen rely on their many staff members, including interns, to prepare and provide information, facts, and in many cases speeches for the very busy lawmakers. Paul has very openly apologized for this plagiarism, as said that it was never his intention to use another’s work. He did tell Wolf Blitzer on CNN, however, that as the boss he takes full responsibility for this mistake. Paul said that moving forward, he will provide footnotes and other fool-proof editing to ensure this does not happen again. In the meantime, the Senator might want to hire those that are well aware of the definition of plagiarism.
