Senator Rubio To Lead Anti-Abortion Efforts

Senator Marco Rubio has been noticeably absent since he only mustered 14 votes from Republicans for his immigration reform bill. This absence is probably due to the opposition he received from the right wing conservatives. Rubio said that he feels “very strongly” about the abortion, and would like to lead the bill that would ban abortions after 20 weeks nationwide. He and other Republican senators are looking to find in the constitution a reason that this ban would be legal. Although Rubio has not found a reason yet, he said there “certainly” must be a section that would fuel this idea. Rubio said he is not sure if he wants to make this a bill or put it as an amendment in another part of a bill.
